The Dior Men Summer 2021 Collection is A Lesson in Moving Stills

The Dior Men Summer 2021 Collection is a Lesson in Moving Stills
For the Dior Men Summer 2021 collection, Artistic Director Kim Jones continues to harness evocative artist collaborations with Ghanaian-born, Vienna-trained artist Amoako Boafo. The dialogue between Boafo’s perceptions of black identity and masculinity in portraits, and the maison’s constant drawing of inspiration from the African continent have resulted in the emotive Dior Men Summer 2021 collection that sees the employment of haute couture techniques on a cultural exchange of frenchness with boafo’s fondness of foliate textile.

A pensive moment from the collection: a nubuck calfskin jacket with an electric shearling collar cuts through the silence when layered over a cotton macramé tank top. The CD Icon acetate earring hangs gracefully.

Stark but no staid: another key look from the Dior Men Summer 2021 is a handsome wool and cashmere coat worn over a printed silk shirt; another CD brass earring dangling to provide a nod to the dandy-man of yesteryears.

A look from the collection that requires a leg up, quite literally. A pair of wool and mohair shorts skims the upper thighs while an alligator jacket and cotton and silk turtleneck provides a sharp contrast. The Explorer II suede boots are also, the new urban shoe of the season.
