The Men’s Folio Editorial Team’s Amazon Singapore Weird Things Wishlist

Amazon Singapore Weird Things
“Amazon Singapore weird things” — the exact search you perform on Google because you’ve ran out of ideas for things to gift someone. You don’t want to be the lame dude who gives them an e-voucher, neither do you want to be the “socks or soap” kind of dude.

Here, each member of our Brady Bunch-like team has curated three “Amazon Singapore Weird Things ” that we’d like to gift ourselves. Or even a friend. Or a family. Or as a stocking stuffer.

It’s not too early to start.

The above image first appeared in our May 2019 issue.

Versatile Plasma Electric Arc Lighter, S$18.05:  There’s the utility of this flexible lighter in helping to light a candlewick towards the deeper end; there’s also the sleeks portability in its size (as compared to the kitchen stove lighter) but the best part lies in its disclaimer, “do not touch the arc, as it results in burn or possible small shock” — which translates to mini taser!

Beide Baby Boys Girls Footies Cleaning Mop Romper, S$33.34:  As frequent readers of this Amazon guides will know, I love things that clean — especially those that clean up after themselves. These baby mop rompers are probably the best invention for the house when friends are popping babies and you still want them around.

CHOUREN Neck Hanging Fan, S$139.85:  I came across this “portable air-con” (words of the artiste) at an outdoor shoot. While the obvious would be to go into air-conditioned room, this neck hanging fan is a considerable fuss-free upgrade to the USB fan when working outdoors. In need of cardio yet not wanting to break a sweat, anyone?

Feel The Bern Stamp by Blue Wave Stamping Co.
Weird Al Yankovic- Greatest Hits Volume 1 and 2 CD Complete Collection
Horror Sounds Instrument Waterphone Movie Weird Sound Effects Unusual Instrument

Feel the Bern Stamp, S$10.90: Bernie had a bird fly onto his shoulder while Mike Pence had a fly land on his head. If that does not show you the good and evil sides of both men then I really don’t know what will. All shade aside, I’m a big fan of Bernie’s stance on  labor rights, universal and single-payer healthcare, tuition-free tertiary education and the Green New Deal.

Weird Al Yankovic- Greatest Hits Volume 1 and 2 CD Complete Collection, S$137.57: If you don’t know who this man is, this is the legend who does parodies of pop songs all while playing the accordion. If that isn’t impressive enough, he actually injects humour into his music without resorting to sex or vulgarities — a trait I find remarkable.

Horror Sounds Waterphone, S$794.62: Apparently, this medieval looking device produces a “freaky horror movie”-like sound when you fill it with water. Am I going to use it to scare kids at night? Yup. Am I going to play it whenever I enter a Zoom video meeting to herald my appearance? You betcha.

Hyperice Vyper 2.0 High-Intensity Vibrating Foam Roller, S$299: Who could have thought you are able to flex with a foam roller? You sure can with the Hyperice Vyper 2.0 Vibrating Foam Roller. It aids blood circulation, increases flexibility and reduces muscle soreness — everything a regular foam roller does.

Marcus & Marcus Learning Chopsticks, S$12.90: This is an unexpected find while trawling through Amazon, a pair of learning chopsticks. We all know a friend who struggles with a pair of chopsticks, and let’s face it — some dishes taste better when eaten with a pair. This could be a good gift if they can first get over the banter and laughs.

Joseph Joseph Spiro Spiralizer Vegetable Spiral Slicer, S$39:It seems like there is a tool or gadget for just about everything currently. Now we have a vegetable slicer to get perfectly shaped vegetable noodles. Hopefully, this is the perfect reason to start eating greens from now on.

The Gift of Nothing, S$17.65: What do you get for someone who doesn’t want anything for their birthday? Nothing. You get them nothing.

Fake Beer Belly Bum Bag, S$15.11: As my muscles begin to reach the state of atrophy, I’ve been finding ways to hide my newly acquired beer belly and what’s a better way to hide it than to give yourself another? #ReversePsychology.

Kawaii Muffle Mask, S$17.82: If you haven’t mastered the art of #smizing like me, it’d probably be difficult to express how you feel behind a plain boring mask. These kawaii masks come in pack of eight – probably useful for any situation.

Fashion Stylist and Writer Manfred Lu

Progressive Guacamole Bowl with Spoon, S$9.18: There’s absolutely no reason why you need a fake guacamole bowl when you can just use an actual guacamole to do the work. It’s extremely frivolous and wasteful, which is why I love it and I think you should get one too.

Disco Ball Bracelet, S$12.84: Remember that scene in The Good Place when Disco Janet appears and it was the coolest thing ever? Now imagine Disco Janet with a disco bracelet; the odds are done, Disco Janet wins the internet.

Buy it here: https://amzn.to/30JlTd6

Bernie Sanders Toilet Paper Roll, S$16.43: I love Bernie Sanders with all my heart, but a roll of this to throw at the TV every time someone says stupid would be a great exercise. Not so frivolous after all.
