The happiest man in fashion — namely, Alber Elbaz — is going through a renaissance. Glance a quick look at his Instagram and you’d certainly know why Men’s Folio has made such a statement — the Israeli fashion designer has gone completely blond, he snaps himself hob-nobbing with celebrities around the globe and yes, the king-pin of “happy-fashion” is still putting his jovial touch to brands.
Collaborations have included designing accessories for LeSportsac, a fragrance with luxury perfumer Frédéric Malle, and the latest brand that Elbaz has turned hands with is TOD’s.
The first of a series of collaborations for the Italian leather house, the brand describes it as “a new creative approach” to continue breathing life into their products. Titled “Happy Moments”, the collection’s starting point is a firm foothold on the iconic TOD’s driving shoe. Elbaz gives his own spin to it — effervescent colours, aerodynamic shapes and a swarm of logos — to inspire people to live more happily.
If one then wonders which situations call for him to don these on, take it from Elbaz himself — Be happy to not be late, be a happy family, fall in love happily, dance happily, have a happy birthday and be happy to have your freedom.
