Sole Superior 2017: Bringing together streetwear culture, style, and more

Since its inception in 2012, Sole Superior has been Singapore’s premier sneaker and streetwear convention.

Founded by Singapore’s respectable OGs of the streetwear community, Jonathan Fong and Dexter Tan celebrated the movement by uniting like-minded individuals to an annual one-day only convention (with an estimate of almost 5,000 attendees).

This event has been a staple in the calendar year for its inclusiveness and appeal to both the street culture enthusiast and curious alike. The duo is also proud to be Singaporean with an extensive range of commemorative memorabilia all designed on home soil.

This year, the community of sneakerheads, hypebeasts, resellers and official dealers gathered together on 25 November at Zouk Singapore, where the entire Zouk, Phuture and Capital spaces were stacked with fresh, limited edition sneaks. You name it, they have it — Pharrell X adidas NMD Human Race, Jeff Staple X Nike Pigeon Dunks, Virgil Abloh X Nike “The Ten” collection, Jordans and not forgetting, the popular Beluga Yeezys,

The ground floor was littered with exclusive collaboration pieces—  Pras The Bandit X Sole Superior T-shirts, tote bags and skateboards and an exclusive Novesta Starmasters X Sole Superior colourway were amongst vinyls and racks of brand-new, second-hand and vintage Supreme, X-Large and Champion garments.

Forming an interactive marketplace, with more than 50 exhibitors, vendors such as Limited Edt, Good Luck Bunch, Death Threads, SEEK Official and even top-notch sneaker laundry Holystic were some notable vanguards present.

In light of Sole Superior 2017,  the event raised $5,200 for NTUC income’s OrangeAid and 79 pairs of sneakers were donated to Sole4Soles through Jason Mark Singapore.
