Dunhill’s Spring/Summer 2017 Collection redefines effortless elegance

  • By Shelton Chang

Who says suits have no place in the Spring/Summer season? Dunhill’s latest collection shows us how to pull off the house’s signature British sophistication with hints of automotive heritage, and an air of relaxed elegance at the same time.

The collection is a nod to the outfits Cary Grant and Matt Damon wore in To Catch a Thief and The Talented Mr. Ripley, with a contemporary update of course. Pieces from the collection are effortless, classic and versatile too.

Blazers, staples of the Dunhill gentleman, are given the summer treatment, featuring a less formal, unstructured silhouette. Softer shoulders, higher armholes, and shorter seats: these small details update traditional codes of British tailoring and help to create the illusion of a leaner and longer body. Natural fibres of wool, cashmere, and silk also provide breathability, crease-resistance, and mobility for its wearer.

Its accessories collection is a fusion of the countryside and the metropolis. It features a travel bag, a document case, a tote, a rucksack, and a messenger bag in navy and brown.

Last but not least, Dunhill’s leather split toe Derby is the season’s hero footwear style. The classic shoe is emblematic of durability, craftsmanship and timeless elegance.
