Biotherm reinforces its commitment to water protection, specifically ocean protection, with its second seasonal artistic collaboration to raise awareness for protection of the Arctic Ocean. For holiday 2013, Water Lovers, Biotherm’s water charity platform, again supports the vital water protection of the ocean. Together with global ocean alliance Mission Blue and the International Union for Conservation Nature’s (IUCN) Polar Programme and in a partnership with another exceptional Swedish talent, Kari Moden, we are working toward increased protection of the Arctic; a vital ecosystem that is confronting multiple threats.

PROTECTING YOUR SKIN & THE SEA BIOTHERM SUPPORTS PROTECTING ARCTIC MARINE LIFE

A portion of proceeds from the limited editions collection will go toward Mission Blue to fund a research expedition to better understand ocean acidification and its impact on Arctic marine life. While the Arctic Ocean is one of the most pristine marine environments on earth, the region is now under threat facing ice melting, over-fishing and climate change. Research is critical for developing plans to minimize impact and protect the marine biodiversity in the Arctic. Founded in 2012, Water Lovers is Biotherm’s charity platform to support projects that help protect the world’s vital water sources. Water Lovers is committed to partnerships with leading charities in water protection, both on a local and global scale, on a long-term basis, starting with Mission Blue.

AWARD-WINNING ARTIST KARI MODEN FOR WATER LOVERS

For the 2013 holiday season, Biotherm unveils its artistic collaboration with the award-winning Stockholm-based illustrator Kari Moden. Moden’s vibrant drawings, with their trademark juxtaposition of simple, fluid shapes with bold

type, have appeared everywhere from Vogue to Gap, emblazoned across products as diverse as wine or wallpaper. For Biotherm Water Lovers, Moden redesigned a trio of the brand’s cult-classics: envisioning a “winter waterland” in her distinctive bold style. Her aquatic-themed designs for Biomains, Aquasource and Lait Corporel will go on sale in limited editions.
