Fun fact: the number seventeen, with its bold architectural lines and strong graphic element is Riccardo Tisci’s favorite number; it has also become an apparently theme in all of his runway collections.
With the latest release of Givenchy timepieces appropriately named Seventeen, Tisci presents a strong yet simple collection of watches that are sure to hit big in the street-style circuit. With each style named after a prime number, the whole idea of naming each timepiece in a mysterious yet powerful manner reflects the aesthetic of the Givenchy world perfectly.
The first watch to be introduced is simply called Seventeen. Contrasting its sturdy name, the sophisticated detail and soft structure makes the watch unisex that plays around with the concept of masculine versus femininity. The duality of delicate and hard elements, further exaggerated by the clean curve with rough edges creates a dynamic balance in the design.
Made from stainless steel and sapphire glass housing a Swiss made quartz movement, Seventeen features gold plated details on the crown and the buckle together with luminescent vintage-looking indexes. As much about versatility as quality, each watch comes with interchangeable straps: a leather version with raw edges and a nylon gros grain NATO version.
Available in six color combinations of various cases and dials including black, anthracite, red, green, steel and gold, Seventeen will be exclusively sold in selected specialty stores and Givenchy shops around the world. Let the hunting begin.
