Sometimes, the Best Way to Wash Your Face Is To Not Touch It

The ést.lab ActivCalm Gentle Hydrating Cleansing Mousse is one of the best facial wash tools; a two-in-one that shaves time off.

I don’t know about you but before I wash my face, I wash my hands first regardless of whether I’m doing it over the sink or in the shower. This might seem a bit of an extremity to most men (trust me, many questions have been asked to my friends) or even some women but there’s always a chance you’re transferring bacteria on your hands to your face mid-scrub.

Next, how long do you take to wash your face? Are you doing it for the length of a usual stock footage reel (15 seconds), or a TikTok video (close to one minute), or do you just lather, soap, and rinse off immediately? While the internet has made washing your face an activity that should clock in at 20 to 30 seconds to really remove dirt and impurities, some of us often can’t commit to even that fraction of a time.

So, here, the best facial wash tools to make things easier but the catch, however, is that you have to commit too to cleaning them.

Pictured above: The ést.lab ActivCalm Gentle Hydrating Cleansing Mousse comes with a deep cleansing silicone brush head that is able to reach down into the pores (bonus: it doesn’t feel harsh no matter how hard you press it into the skin) and the cleanser itself is pH respecting and surprisingly, quite adept at taking makeup off.

Braun FaceSpa Pro 932 3-in-1 facial epilating, cleansing & skin toning system with 5 extras
It’s kind of a funny coincidence that the Braun FaceSpa Pro has such a mouthful of a name because it’s one of the best facial wash tools here as it does the most. Sure, it cleanses the skin with a brush that respects the sensitivity of the skin (just remember to never stay in one spot for too long) but it also epilates even the finest of hairs without any prickling.

If you’re equally lazy to apply skincare, it comes with a MicroVibration head that “pushes” the product into the skin.

Foreo Luna Play Plus 2 Facial Cleansing Massager
One of the facial wash tools that we come back to time and time again is this particular one as it has two portions which cater to the different kinds of skin and how it’s feeling at the time of day. The tip allows you to dip cleanse hard-to-reach areas like crevices and the body allows for gentle cleansing even for the neck.

While the brand claims it’s made of ultra-hygienic silicone, seriously, go find some time to deep clean it with soap and warm water from time to time.

What I appreciate about this facial wash tool is that it doesn’t claim to do the most (aka hard sell) and in fact, is beautifully designed in a MoMA gift shop kind of way. Its method of usage is equally as minimal too: one side helps to cleanse the face with sonic vibrations and the other is called ActiveWarmth™ which massages and “loosens” the skin up to allow products to penetrate better.

If you’ve woken up with a swallow face, opt for mode 3 or 4 as it stimulates blood flow to keep things moving.
