Alessandro Michele’s Best Looks for Gucci In Men’s Folio

  • By Bryan Goh

With news of Alessandro Michele’s exit at Gucci, we take a look at the best looks in Men’s Folio that stands for everything the creative director has done for the House: changing the way we think about gender, maximalism, creativity and of course, shaking up pop culture and its direct impact on the industry itself.

Pictured Above: Michele’s magic was that its peculiarity inspired playfulness. Here, Lucas Jong collapses on a chair albeit in a fashion way while wearing a Gucci x Ken Scott Silk floral-printed bowling shirt with matching shorts.

Art often imitated life and vice versa for Alessandro Michele and one of his best looks always involved a suit. Taking the act of “knocking off” up a notch, one of his standout pieces was the ‘Fake/Not’ series that Dzak straps across his body.

In Michele’s world, everybody is a Gucci person which straddles the spectrum from skater boys to celebrities and even the random people on the street who might love a GG insignia belt. Above, Erwin, Gilbert and Viki make some moves with the Gucci Grip watches.

One of the best looks Alessandro Michele has done for Gucci revolved around character dressing. For the Fall Winter 2021 season, Michael goes full-on Americana.

One of the pleasures as a stylist who has to work with Gucci is that every season, there is something sparkly, spangly and stand-out to fulfil their creative dreams. Here, a Gucci diamanté and metal chain-link body harness.

At its simplest, Alessandro Michele’s best looks for Gucci still make a statement. Here, Jungshin of CNBLUE wears an easy two-piece outfit consisting of a cotton shirt with pants.

With all the theatrics and the atypical, one often forgets that Michele was capable of incredible tailoring at Gucci. Here, Hamza reveals a slither of skin in a wool and silk satin waistcoat with matching pants.

CHANSUNG and JUN.K of 2PM prove that evening dressing need not be staid; the former flexes a wool and feather jacket and the leather straps on a harness layered over a velvet jacket.

Lastly, one of Alessandro Michele’s best looks for Gucci this season involved a clashing of culture and brands:  Kenji suits up in a three-piece and a pair of the House’s Injection Mask acetate sunglasses.
