Finally, Skincare Foundations That Feel Great

Clé de Peau Beauté The Foundation skincare foundations
Finally, we’re living in a time period where even if societal collapse is imminent, there’s good news that skincare foundation formulas have been gotten right. They have kept the benefits of both products — the efficacy of skincare and the coverage of foundations — but they no longer feel heavy, a gripe that most editors have with them.

Here, six newly launched ones with finishes that are as seamless as they are natural. The fun too, is taking them off and realising that your skin still looks pretty damn great.

Pictured above: Clé de Peau Beauté The Foundation (with that moniker, you know the brand means serious business) contains something called a Precious Lakesis Complex, crystallised tears collected from the Pistacia Lentiscus tree that enhances skin elasticity the more you use the product. As for the finish and the range, it contains Blur Perfection Technology that gives an incredibly dewy glow and the shade range contains 14 different ones. While that might not seem impressive in context to other brands, the finish is so light and airy that you can go up one shade or below your usual.

Guerlain Parure Gold Skin Matte Foundation skincare foundationsThe genius of the Guerlain Parure Gold Skin Matte Foundation and the Gold Skin version itself starts from its shade range (14 that are derived from two and a half years of Asian skin tone mapping) to its formula (white peony extracts hydrates and soothe) and as for the matte version, the 24-karat gold infusion gives luminosity without the oiliness. As for the brand’s claims that is it no-transfer (a feat for a luminous foundation), it is true unless one smushes his face too roughly on a surface (we don’t judge).

An addition to their iconic Ambient Soft Glow range, the Hourglass Ambient Soft Glow Foundation has incredibly coverage (it has the possibility to cover tattoos if you layer it right) but the soft glow comes from light-diffusing pigments instead as compared to other brands that go full-on shine. As for the skincare component, it includes white tea extract, vitamin E and antioxidants to soften and soothe.

rms Beauty ReEvolve Medium Coverage Liquid Foundation skincare foundationsCompared to the other skincare foundations on the list, the rms Beauty ReEvolve Medium Coverage Liquid Foundation goes one step further by adding an ingredient called Tightenyl™ that visibly firms, tones and smoothes; an effect that becomes permanent with repeated use. Its lightweight formula too means that you can put it on in the dark, sans mirror, or in any moving vehicle you find yourself in.

A response to its customer base who use the concealers as foundations, the tarte face tape™ foundation feels lighter on the skin but does not sacrifice the coverage; snow mushroom, apple fruit extract and hyaluronic acid has been added to brighten, protect and moisturise which makes this one of the most comfortable skincare foundations for the skin. It’s also water-resistant if one is planning to wear this to engage in water sports.

Is the Ultra Violette Daydream Screen SPF50 Tinted Veil a sunscreen? Well, its name says so: it providesbroad spectrum SPF50 UVA and UVB protection. Is it a lightweight foundation? It comes in 15 shades where you can go two shades up or down with buildable coverage. Is it a skincare product? It contains Pentivitin; an ingredient that reduces flakiness, improves skin texture and coincidentally, enables the product to become beautifully blendable.
