Two boys, four single releases, and a million Spotify monthly listeners later, here, HYBS — breezy indie-pop duo band from Thailand — reviews the singles from their latest album, ‘Making Steak’.

Go Higher
This first track can be interpreted with different meanings depending on how listeners immerse themselves in the song. ‘Go Higher’ was created with the intent of opening our shows with a bang!

Dancing With My Phone
This song starts off with Karn and his melodic riff, and we based the rest of the song on the intro. The theme we were going for for ‘Dancing With My Phone’ was a groovy lonesome vibe coupled with a bizarre songwriting style.

We didn’t really know where the idea came from except that it was a vibe that we were sharing in the bedroom studio.

Run Away
As the title suggests, this song is about running away and escapism. This is the perfect song for when you want to shrug off and get away from any surrounding bad vibes.

Killer
Killer is a metaphor for a love that has been put to an end filled with heartbreak. We wanted to try adding some ’80s retro vibes and the music and lyrics just came together harmoniously.

Ride
This is our first song ever as HYBS! This song came to life on a random night we spent together making music and is representative of our first ‘ride’ together on this musical journey.

Would You Mind
Since most of our songs gave lonesome vibes, we wanted to warm the hearts of our listeners with a more melodic and sweeter-sounding song, coupled with simple and honest storytelling.

Rockstar
We really jammed out to this one — the concept of this song is based on a persona that we feel people can relate to since we believe that everyone can be a ‘Rockstar’ in their own way and style.

Prettiest To Me
We didn’t know what would be the perfect fit for the album ending… maybe the greatest? The sweetest? The prettiest? So we wrote this song from our own personal experiences to fit the ending of the album, and we hope you love it.
