The Double Happiness Of the Chivas Extra 13 Blended Scotch Whisky

The Double Happiness Of the Chivas Extra 13 Blended Scotch Whisky
On its own, the Chivas Extra 13 Blended Scotch Whisky is a beautiful blend but two new flavours cultivated from different casks make them even more ambrosial.

With regards to how it should be drunk, the Chivas Extra 13 Blended Scotch Whisky is democratic down to the last drop in one’s dram — be it neat, on the rocks, as a 1:1 water ratio to reveal its subtle flavours or any way one wishes to imbibe it. The Chivas Regal Extra 13 Tequila Cask Whisky and Chivas Regal Extra 13 Bourbon Cask Whisky, however, add a flavour-filled finesse to the spirit.

The former contains a portion of blended Scotch whisky that has been finished in tequila casks that adds a tangy taste of pineapple from the cask to the whisky’s orchard fruit and sweet pear flavour. Conversely, the same portion of the latter has been selectively matured in first-fill bourbon casks that adds a luscious layer of honeyed flavours for a rich and rounder finish. Each bottle is a showcase of internationality that extends from the palette to the bottle as each features artwork by renowned street artist Greg Gossel of postmodernist art fame.

“The Extra 13 collection represents new territory for Chivas as we continue to open up the world of Scotch whisky to new audiences and fresh experiences. At Chivas we believe that blended is better – and nowhere is this more evident than with our new collection, which blends exceptional Scotch with a diverse, internationally-inspired palette of flavours.” says Sandy Hyslop, Director of Blending at Chivas Regal.
