An emphasis on tailoring the natural exudes from Giorgio Armani’s Armani/Casa collection displayed for the Milan Furniture Fair this year. A specially designed space located at Corso Venezia showcases exquisite embroideries transformed into ephemeral textures from the very play of surface and light itself.
While the walls are deep black and the floor is dark grey Bedonia stone, softened natural illumination comes from lightweight canvasses with bamboo prints filtering the view from outside. Large lanterns in delicate semi-transparent gauze hang from the ceiling. Full-height light panels on thin mesh are printed with motifs of the collection.
On the other hand, the furniture is tastefully minimalist to draw attention to the material quality and the finish. In addition, drawing from their fashion experience, the Armani/Casa Exclusive Textiles by Rubelli collection characterizes the designer’s trademark style, with stronger colors (ruby red, jade green, sapphire blue) paired with subdued ones (smoky gold or grey). Dreamy Japanese landscapes extensively decorates the collection. The wallcoverings utilize digital technology to obtain special patterns and effects.
