Birthdays Just Got Better with the Moët & Chandon Pharrell Williams Limited Edition Collection

Moët & Chandon taps Pharrell Williams for a limited edition collection that reimagines birthday celebrations.

Birthdays are never quite the same anymore — especially when a cultural powerhouse like Pharrell Williams is involved. Teaming up with legacy champagne maison Moët & Chandon, the visionary artist has reimagined birthday celebrations through the new Moët & Chandon Pharrell Williams Limited Edition Collection. The collaboration, united by a shared spirit of joy, optimism and human connection, puts the people who celebrate you at the heart of every moment with a champagne experience that is both deeply personal and universally uplifting.

Collaborations are nothing new to Moët & Chandon. After past engagements with the late Virgil Abloh, Yoon Ahn, and Daniel Arsham, the champagne maison taps into Pharrell Williams’ bottomless creative exponent.

In this current age, Pharrell Williams stands as a true icon of culture as he effortlessly bridges music, fashion, film and design. Although he is the current creative director of Louis Vuitton menswear, Pharrell Williams lends his Midas touch across the luxury spectrum — everything he touches turns into gold. A quick glance across to his Tiffany Titan line with LVMH sister brand Tiffany & Co. and further east to his creative advisory with NOT A HOTEL is just the tip of the iceberg. As Pharrell Williams continues to reshape the boundaries of luxury fashion, with the LEGO® animated biopic Piece by Piece highlighting his ever-evolving creative vision, the global force brings his new ways of thinking, creating and celebrating to Moët & Chandon.

Champagnes have long been the centrepiece of celebrations, and for generations, Moët & Chandon has been the preferred champagne for birthday toasts. With the latest collaboration, Pharrell Williams wants these birthdays to be all the more special by elevating the experience of those who celebrate you.

“The best part about a birthday is the people who want to celebrate it with you,” says Pharrell. “When I was old enough to toast with champagne for the first time, Moët & Chandon was my point of reference. I suppose it’s just a tradition, it’s the ritual.”

Birthdays Just Got Better with the Moët & Chandon Pharrell Williams Limited Edition CollectionPart of the allure of birthday celebrations are dressing up to the nines and with that, Pharrell Williams dressed the iconic Moët & Chandon flacons with a bow after an emblematic 1889 design was found in the archives. The bow, which symbolises togetherness, generosity, joy and surprise, forms one of the key elements of this limited edition range. Pharrell Williams’ reinterpretation of the bow materialises as the Grand Vintage Collection 2003 Bow Creation with a detachable oversized bow adorned with pearls that doubles up as a brooch crafted by Parisian embroidery studio Baqué Molinié.

Joining the 2003 vintage that celebrates Pharrell Williams’ 30 birthday are the Moët Brut Impérial and Moët Nectar Impérial Rosé. The former, an iconic mainstay in the maison loved for its bright fruitiness and elegant maturity, is dressed up in midnight blue, gold, and deep red, while the latter, characterised by an intense bouquet of strawberry, raspberry, redcurrant, is decked in white.

Pharrell Williams completes his creation with white dotted lettering similar to pearls on the box and transforms Moët & Chandon’s traditional royal red seal into a pearled monogram of his initials. Both expressions are available in the Bow Creation execution with the Moët Brut Impérial in Midnight Blue and Moët Nectar Impérial Rosé in White.

Finally, we arrive at the Moët Jewel Masterpiece, the pièce de résistance of the collection. Mirrored chrome achieved through a special industrial process covers the bottle surface which artist Astrid de Chaillé adds hand-lettering with 89 embossed relief pearls in paint. An oversized bejeweled bow acts as the finishing touch as artisans in the Baqué Molinié atelier painstakingly beaded 7310 pearls which required 300 hours of handwork. The Moët Jewel Masterpiece is limited to 30 bottles and will not be available in Singapore.

The Moët & Chandon and Pharrell Williams Limited Edition will be available exclusively in Singapore at W Singapore – Sentosa Cove and selected FairPrice Finest stores in April, starting from S$85. It will also be available at outlets such as Zouk, HighHouse, and HaveFun Live Show from May onwards.
