The Natural And Statement Making Beauty Of Sunleaf Shutters
Before we introduce Sunleaf Shutters — the shutter studio that has been outfitting landed homes, private apartments, 5-star hotels and resorts for more than two decades — we have to let you know that to prevent facade failures, not every window requires shutters. However, the good people at Sunleaf Shutters are able to accomodate all your interior whims, fancies, and eccentric requests.

Here, Daniel Lim, Director of Sunleaf Shutters takes us through four projects.

The owners wanted to retain the colonial look of their house, and requested for more privacy as well as to keep bugs out. The shutters are a divider from their home to the balcony, which is surrounded by nature.

To increase privacy for the homeowners, Sunleaf Shutters blocked out the bottom 1M of the shutters as we usually look at views from certain heights (1M and up). The shutters are also backed with glass panels, so as to keep the aircon in.

Landed House (Thailand)
The shutters were designed to match a forest feeling, as if the house was within nature. To protect the house from insects, the shutters were integrated with a glass panel and mosquito net, of which the latter can be easily removed for washing.

Noble Residence (Thailand)
Measurements for shutters that are perpendicular to each other or curved have to be extremely precise, otherwise, the shutters will not fit the window frame and the entire set will have to be reproduced.

With Noble Residence’s expansive room requiring a perpendicular installation of shutters, Sunleaf Shutters verified the measurements two to three times, ensuring precision and quality.

Dover Park View (Singapore)
The owners wanted to have a floor-to-ceiling shutter installation to replace their previous full-sized windows, limiting the amount of light entering from the upper sections. Sunleaf Shutters actually made this possible by combining two different shutter sizes with varying functions to achieve this.

The top panels are clip-on magnetic panels that can be easily opened, while the bottom panels are sliding doors with panels that can be tilted, adjusting the amount of light the homeowners would like to let in.
