The third and latest edition of The Harmony Collection finds itself back in familiar verdant Scottish territories after traversing the globe to Spain and Ethiopia into the worlds of cacao and coffee in the collection’s first two editions. The homecoming is made even more special as The Macallan roped in the talents of the McCartney sisters, Stella and Mary, for a collaboration united by curiosity, respect and admiration for the natural world.
The Macallan Harmony III Collection Is an Ode to the Scottish Lands
With a deep-rooted connection with nature stretching close to two centuries, The Macallan distils its profound respect and love as a celebration of Scotland’s lands in the release of The Macallan Harmony III Collection. It is further enriched by the McCartney sisters’ love and memories of the Scottish countryside, captured by the headlining The Macallan Harmony III Collection Amber Meadow expression.
Inspired by the McCartney sisters’ summer getaways at their family’s farm in the Scottish countryside, the sherry-seasoned oak and bourbon cask matured spirit evokes amber hues of warm meadows and mature barley fields during a summer evening’s golden hour. “On the nose, fresh citrus fruits and honeysuckle are complemented by hints of vanilla, coconut and ripe barley fields,” notes The Macallan whisky maker Steven Bremner. “Notes of oak, lemon, and melon are prominent when sipped, accompanied by flavours of classic scone and almond with green tea, before giving way to a rich and sweet long finish.”
As respect to the profound connection to the Scottish lands, the presentation boxes and bottle labels have been artfully crafted from repurposed meadow cuttings, embodying The Macallan’s commitment to using nature’s discarded resources to fashion beauty from materials in their twilight years. Each box features a photograph of The Macallan Estate captured by Mary McCartney as a finishing touch to this limited edition collection.
