A Soirée Celebrating the Magic of The Glenrothes Beckons

The magic of the Speyside spirit.

The Glenrothes, an ultra-luxury house of rare, aged single malts, celebrates the legacy of its Core Collection with The Timeless Artistry Experience at Mandala Club from 2-4 August.

For those who love whisky, knowing the source and story of each spirit is almost as important as the knowing how to enjoy the spirit itself. Whiskies are borne out of time, and the people and places involved in ensuring this liquid gold crystallises into its final, mature form for many years are pivotal to the industry — and The Glenrothes is determined to laud and share this appreciation of their craft — finessed to perfection since 1879 — with the rest of the world.

From 2-4 August, The Timeless Artistry Experience will take place at the Mandala Club, an exceptional event curated to bring consumers on an immersive journey of discovery and wonder, spotlighting the meticulous craftsmanship and progression that goes into distilling each elegant spirit of The Glenrothes. Mapping the life story of the rare malt whiskies from the moment their flavours are nuanced into fruition, those privy to these stories will gain a deeper appreciation for The Glenrothes — especially that of the Core Collection’s The 18 and The 25.

The 18 is a complex and well-rounded expression, matured only in sherry seasoned oak casks for 18 years, a high proportion first fill. Bottled at natural colour, its flavour unfurls with plenty of dried fruit notes, alongside crisp pear and a spicy touch of stem ginger. It then lingers with the lasting sweetness of vanilla and pear, with peppery flourishes — a mirror of how this expression capture the key moment where complexity starts to bloom into being. The 25 on the other hand delivers heady notes with a character defined by salted caramel, mango and coriander seeds, nutty in fragrance and just faintly sweet with a hint of jasmine. It is delicate yet distinctly fruity, growing in vivacity with every sip — the fruit becomes more aromatic, vanilla notes become more decadent — which distils the sweet, beauty that can only come about from patience and harmony.

The pop-up will also feature The Glenrothes’ latest release, The 32 — a tribute to John Smith, who served for 32 years as The Glenrothes’ Distillery Manager from 1897 to 1929. He stood by the distillery through turbulent times, and in return The Glenrothes honours his strength of character and pride for the distillery through the release of The 32; the taste of a celebrated, historic era. With tasting notes like stewed plums, treacle toffee and Earl Grey tea, its flavours and fragrance are in memory of a moment, and of a man that continues to shape The Glenrothes’ present and future.

To give an idea of what guests are signing up for, the experience is divided into four chapters — Elemental, Effortlessness, Artistry and Unparalleled. Upon entry, guests will be immersed in evocative land- and soundscapes of the river, highlighting how spring water, naturally filtered through the rocky round, helps The Glenrothes distil exceptionally elegant spirits. Artwork themed around florals and foliage will further extend the botanical slant of the featured expressions, before guests are invited to give a go at guided tastings of The 18 and The 25, ending off with a final pit stop at a bar where even The 32 and The 42 are available to purchase in drams.

Each ticket to The Timeless Artistry Experience retails at $58 and comes with a welcome cocktail, a dram of The 18 (20ml) and a dram of The 25 (20ml).
