Your Apple ecosystem is about to get more intelligent… artificially. Apple just rolled out its latest iOS 27 update, and it’s bringing Siri AI to all your devices along with better parental control, and improved performances across devices.
Introducing Siri AI
The new iOS 27 introduces Siri AI across all iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple Vision Pro. It’s basically a more intelligent, knowledgeable and capable version of Siri with a slew of new features that make your daily apps smarter and more efficient across your Apple ecosystem. For one, Siri AI now understands personal contexts across messages, emails, photos and more, to help users find what they need in the moment.
With Visual Intelligence, users can ask Siri about what they’re looking at onscreen, as well as search, ask questions, and take action simply by looking at their surroundings with Siri.
With the Write with Siri function, users can describe what needs to be written or refined to Siri to generate a draft. A dedicated Siri app uses iCloud to privately sync conversational history across a user’s products, so they can start chatting with Siri on iPhone and continue the conversation on any of their other devices.
On the Photos app, Spatial Reframing, Extend, and an upgraded Clean Up tool provide more ways to edit photos. For now, Siri AI is being rolled out as a beta in English, with support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish coming this October 2026.
New child safety features
For parents, the iOS 27 introduces a slew of new child safety features and age-based safeguards across systems. Parents can choose the exact apps their children can access on their devices, and even gradually add more over time.
Parents can also monitor their children’s screen time and set up time allowances across entertainment, games and social media apps, as well as schedules that allow their children to have access to specific apps at different points of the day.
A more refined experience across devices
The new iOS 27 also offers a more refined experience across devices. On iPhone and iPad, apps launch 30% quicker, and photos load 70% faster after being taken. On Mac, AirDrop transfers are quicker, iCloud Photos uploads begin faster. On Apple Watch, music playback is even faster.
