When we first met Son Heung-Min a few years back in 2024, he arrived at a moment when the international football community was only beginning to fully recognise his impact — a rise that would soon extend onto the global stage. Son Heung-Min is still the charismatic superstar footballer that we know of since back then. Except now, even that title feels a little too understated. His achievements to date include: captaining Tottenham Hotspur to their first trophy in 17 years with a 2025 UEFA Europa League triumph. He has since begun a new chapter with Los Angeles FC in Major League Soccer, cementing his status as one of the most accomplished Korean footballers of the 2020s.
All while maintaining his global ambassadorship with Burberry. In a special exclusive interview, he gives us a glimpse of his life beyond the football field, and how luxury plays an active part in his active recovery.
What does Burberry represent to you in terms of style?
To me, Burberry represents a balance between staying true to its foundations and practical heritage, while continuously evolving with something new. That combination of tradition and innovation feels closely aligned with the direction I pursue as an athlete.
How does wearing Burberry compliment your personal style?
For someone like me who values simplicity and comfort, wearing Burberry naturally adds a sense of sophistication and elegance while still feeling practical and effortless. I like how it balances everyday ease with a refined touch.
What role do the fans play in creating the ultimate experience on match days?
At the stadium, I see the fans as the ones who give me the strength to turn the impossible into possible. Their support and energy create an atmosphere that makes every match day truly special.
What do Burberry and Britishness have in common?
I think it’s about staying true to its foundations, respecting diversity, and continuously evolving cultural values that have been carried forward for over 170 years.
