Heineken has never made it clearer the importance of having a healthy work-life balance. From the cute elevator activation from earlier in April — in which workers were served their first sip of beer before they reached the ground floor of their office building — to the Afterwork Refreshed activation in collaboration with Wild Pearl Studio, Heineken’s stance on having a clean divide between work and play has always been a means for everyone to return to themselves after a full day serving the greater cause. The best kind of proof is demonstrated through lived experiences, and if a brew is all it takes to loosen your reins, Heineken definitely knows what it’s doing.
This year, Heineken takes it (literally) to the next level with its First Sip House pop-up from 7 to 16 May 2026, at 36 Keong Saik Road. Taking full liberty to design the ultimate after work experience for CBD denizens, here is a multi-level experience buffet — anchored by the First Sip Bar — that entices all to relax, dipping into everyone’s 6-9 alter ego with a pint of Heineken in hand.
The First Sip Bar will be led again by award-winning mixologist June Bak of Hup San Social Club and chef Justin Hammond of Club Street Laundry, where a menu of beertails and four beer bite pairings inspired by the Heineken Pure Malt profile will be served. Tongue-in-cheek creations like ‘Punched Out’ tuna tartare paired with a Soju Bomb beertail of Heineken Original and Omija berry, as well as ‘The Payoff’, which is a 48-hour slow-cooked beef short rib tacos served with a customisable Michelada — finished either with Tabasco, wasabi or sambal — are sure to linger in your mind (and tastebuds) as you move to the other parts of the establishment.
Beyond the grub lies experiential zones designed to enhance your after work time with activities. To encourage new connections, the Star Tap relies on a cheers-to-currency exchange where a tap of your bracelet with someone new unlocks colour changes, exclusive rewards and a place on the live Afterwork Stars leaderboard. There’s also a graffiti Art Jam space, as well as the Pourfection Lounge, where Heineken’s Draught Masters will teach you ways of the perfect pour in five steps, in the all new Heineken StarMark Glass that you can keep if you nail the technique.
While general admission is free and comes with a complimentary pint of the Heineken Original, Silver or 0.0, guests can go for an upgraded and ticketed beertail and bites pairing set, priced from $18 for early bird bookings and $21 during the event period. All entries can be reserved in advance here, with limited slots available across the 10-day run.
