Lanvin Fall/Winter 2016 Rucksack

  • By Ian Lee

Coinciding the Menswear Style Director’s 10th year at the house, Lucas Ossendrijver’s Fall/Winter 2016 Lanvin accessories have been described by critics as some of his best yet – hello, casual-yet-refined hand-sprayed sneakers, oversized messengers and chic tie-pins. Even with the novelty of the collection’s chunky creeper shoes, and a range of extras decorated with a special print celebrating Ossendrijver’s decade of service, he says his fave item of the lot is the timeless Lanvin Rucksack. After all, “the rucksack is to the shoulders what sneakers are to the feet”.

In lightweight, sturdy Japanese nylon, the functional number comes with multiple pockets: an external one that fits your smart phone, and a compartment made specially to house your laptop. Even the back of the rucksack is reinforced with nylon, so it’s silent and comfortable when carried over the shoulder. And while the other bags bear the collection’s water lily and saw prints, this classic black backpack is simply ornamented with a single black and white spider motif – another enduring icon of Lanvin’s menswear.
