Lawrence Wong for Salvatore Ferragamo Fall/Winter’18

Lawrence Wong for Salvatore Ferragamo Fall/Winter’18

Salvatore Ferragamo’s Fall/Winter’18 collection marks a new milestone for the Italian luxury Maison. Paul Andrew, its womenswear creative director, boldly presented his work alongside Guillaume Meilland, its menswear design director. Meilland and Andrew have been said to have a great rapport and be on the same page every time, from choosing the colour palette to trying on womenswear for men and vice versa; they have done everything together and built this whole collection from scratch.

The highlight of the Fall/Winter‘18 collection is Salvatore Ferragamo’s icons; the footwear. Carrying the house’s storied history, the shoes are the seed of the collection that was purposefully visualised from scratch. The Doppio Gancini, Ferragamo’s iconic logo that has been stamped all over belts and shoes, is represented in ornamental hardware on the Bankly-Oxblood boots as well as the Brady-Neo shoes. Although appearing slightly oversized on the Triple-cuoio soled shoes, the distinguished logo still provides beautiful visual impact for the wearer.

For Fall/Winter’18, Salvatore Ferragamo collaborated with Lawrence Wong, hot from the success of his recent stint “The Story of Yanxi Palace”. Capturing Lawrence in his playful nature, alongside Salvatore Ferragamo’s signature Blankly-Oxblood boots, Brady-Neo shoes as well as the season’s key ready-to-wear, the featured accessories boasts the brand’s vision of modernity, heritage and craft know-how.

They say a good pair of shoes will take one places, and Ferragamo’s latest season’s shoes are definitely more than just a chunk of leather that stands in the hallway.
