Hermès has enjoyed a long-standing affinity with its birthplace, Lyon, France. Come 20th June to 1st July 2018, Palais de la Bourse will host Hermès “Hors les Murs”, an itinerant rendezvous where artisans from 10 of the Parisian house’s métiers (each dedicated to one of Hermès’s signature crafts) will set up their suitcases to meet the public to share their expertise, their experience and their passion.
The extensive showcase has been a perennial effort by the Maison to elevate its artisanship to the public. Discover the talented hands which transform materials into bags, saddles, silk scarves, ties, jewellery, and watches at 10 dedicated display modules. Watch the craftspeople demonstrate and explain their work, answer questions from the public, and discuss the exceptional techniques that are the hallmark of every Hermès métier.
Besides the 10 modules, glass-workers and cutters of the Saint-Louis crystalworks will be shown through an immersive 360° film. In between the show-and-tell; round tables, screenings, and a bistro will enliven these 10 days of discovery around Hermes.
