Exceptional’s The New Normal: Justin Bartha at 70th Annual Golden Globes

Looking exceptionally extraordinary was NBC’s “The New Normal” leading man Justin Bartha, who stood out from the average Joes on the red carpet at last night’s Golden Globes in a full-on Giorgio Armani penguin suit.

It was all about the blue for the blue-eyed man, who complemented his dreamy cornflower-hued peepers with a classic black alternative, the midnight blue tuxe—even his patent lace-ups threw off a subtle navy sheen. In a no-brainer of a pairing, Justin wore a crisp white evening shirt under his snazzy peak lapel dinner jacket, and did a match-matchy with a bow-tie that was the exact same shade as his tuxe.

Our only complaint? The bottom. His pants were perhaps a little too loose, making him look a tad boxy: a travesty for a man as trim as Justin. Still, Justin’s one of our favorite actors on one of our favourite ongoing television sitcoms right now, so we’ll cut him some slack—and given Jodie Foster’s headline-grabbing coming-out speech at the awards ceremony, an LGBT-friendly actor, ill-fitting trousers or no, is always nice to have around. Witness what Justin has to say about the raison d’etre behind taking on the role in his ground-breaking comedy, which revolves around a gay couple and their surrogate: “My only brother is gay, and he didn’t come out until later in his life. I love him very much, so there’s that.” All together now: Aww.
