The Weekend Agenda: Take Your Tastebuds On An International Voyage

  • By Men's Folio

You don’t need a plan to sample the flavours of the world. This weekend, take your tastebuds on a journey around the globe at these dining highlights.

Humpback Take a soujourn down to Seattle and sample their freshest seafood at Humpback, a new small-plate seafood restaurant opened by the owners behind Jigger & Pony and Sugarhall. Boasting succulent raw oysters alongside classic favourites like calamari and black cod, Humpback’s stellar hand at innovative dish conceptualisation presents newfangled dishes like mussels served aside pork belly, or hamachi ceviche with yuzu accents. At Humpback, a craft cocktail bar features a menu of 12 white-spirits based house cocktails, designed to suit the nuanced flavours of seafood with balanced, dainty and yet heady drinks. For puritans who believe that seafood should be accompanied by a glass of white wine, Humpback’s extensive collection of wines and champagne will please even the most discerning diner.

Humpback is located at 18/20 Bukit Pasoh Rd.

Carne & Caipirinha Meat lovers can salivate their way through the Atlantic at Carne & Caipirinha, Singapore’s first and only Brazillian churrascaria, where an array of meats are roasted with charcoal fire for maximum smoke and juiciness. There are two things that ever carnivore will shed tears of joy over – meat offerings, whether chicken, beef, lamb, pork or fish are unlimited. Servers called “passadors” will circle the restaurant bearing skewers of meats and carve them right on your plates, and the offerings do not stop until you swap out to the red plate. Plates at Carne & Caipirinha operate like a traffic light system, so keep yours at green if you’re still on the ball for more meats. Aside from sizzling meat, the restaurant offers a buffet of gourmet sides prepared freshly in-house, including the traditional Brazillian stew, feijoada.

Carne and Caipirinha is located at #01-50, Sunset Way Residence, 106 Clementi Street 12
