Making It Big

  • By Yong Wei Jian

A  gem of a mirrorless digital camera, the Fujifilm X-T30, will dazzle experienced photographers and amateurs alike with its compact size and impressive imaging capabilities. The latest addition to the highly acclaimed X series, the X-T30 is a worthy contender that upholds the family’s reputation for delivering superior image quality backed by the company’s proprietary colour reproduction technology. Weighing just 383g, it is available in classic black, premium silver, and charcoal silver.

One of the many joys of handling a Fujifilm camera is the manipulation of physical controls, akin to the experience of using a classic film camera, rather than one with a purely digital user interface. The X-T30 judiciously retains this and doubles down on the romanticisation of shooting on film with the ETERNA option – a film simulator mode designed to further enhance the colour grading of images with low tonality and saturation, which is ideal for photographers who would like to replicate the image quality of film while enjoying the flexibility of post-shoot editing.
