Swiss watchmaker Zenith has announced Mandopop legend Eason Chan as its newest celebrity ambassador, and it’s easy to see why. The “God of Songs” is described by Time magazine as having “an impactful reputation and massive influence on local [Chinese] music”, and his architectural approach to his craft, along with his urban appeal and perpetually youthful “start-up spirit”, is completely in line with the contemporary attitude of the brand with the guiding star.
The partnership is showcased in the new “Into the Second” campaign, demonstrating the power pair’s shared values. “In my theory, perfection is not attainable. But trying to pursue perfection is the attitude needed. Zenith’s passion in watchmaking is entirely in tune with my dedication to music,” says Chan. From the legendary high-frequency El Primero to the miraculous Defy (a 1/100th second chronograph), Zenith has constantly pushed the speed boundaries of horology, and now Chan lends his accessible appeal by wearing the Defy El Primero 21 Full Diamonds and the Pilot Type 20 Extra Special Chronograph in the campaign.
