What’s there not to love about a film dedicated to showcasing the exquisite craftsmanship behind the final products we see everyday in fashion boutiques – especially when it is one by Dior Homme? The brand has given us an exclusive preview “Savoir Faire”. The film, which is a part of Dior Homme’s Spring 2017 sneakers campaign, showcases the alluring process of pattern drafting, shoe sole molding and the ever delicate process of stitching the flat pieces together to form three-dimensional footwear.
Inspired by Italy’s heritage of patience and skills handed down over the generations, the collection adopted seven exceptional styles that first originated in the country. One such style, as seen in the film, features the iconic Prince of Wales motif in embossed leather (debuted in Christian Dior’s first collection) with dabs of primary hues that pay tribute to the couturier’s passion for painting. The film, condensed to a mere one-minute preview, manages to retain informative details from the tedious four-day process of construction, while also highlighting the intricacy of Dior Homme’s craftsmanship.
