Gucci Cruise 2017: A Portrait of Chatsworth

  • By Henry Boen

We are uncertain if the recent worldwide phenomenon, Brexit, might have become a partial source of inspiration for Gucci’s Creative Director Alessandro Michele (or not?), but there is indeed an unquestionable ’70s rebellious spirit highlighted in the brand’s Cruise 2017 : A portrait of Chatsworth campaign.

Set and shot by photographer Glen Luchford in a picturesque garden lanscape in Chatsworth – the home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire – the campaign’s compelling choice of characters (79-year-old British actress Vanessa Redgrave and several young punkish models) paint an eclectic portrait of the British spirit while the shaky, hand-held effect of the video adds a youthful and nostalgic charm. The campaign also marks the start of Gucci’s three-year cultural partnership with Chatsworth.

Cruise 2017: A portrait of Chatsworth will be unveiled on October 1st.
