Burberry Merging Runway Shows

  • By Shatricia Nair

Burberry might be a brand synonymous with British heritage, but its updated business model and campaign is anything but traditional. Come September 19, the label will not only debut its “see now, buy now” collection, but also release the rest of the campaign images. And yes, Burberry is merging runway shows.

Instead of the usual men’s and womenswear runway shows, Burberry will merge both and showcase them in a single runway show. All the pieces will be available both online and in stores immediately around the world.

Burberry teases its upcoming campaign with only two images prior to the show. Lensed by the legendary Mario Testino, the campaign sees models Jean Campbell, Cavan McCarthy and Alex Dragulele look impossibly cool amidst the historic backdrop of sculptures from Walker Art Gallery. To make the campaign that much more significant, Burberry also included the artisans of Burberry – who hail from the mills and factories across Europe – in the campaign.
