Pay attention, everyone. Great changes are in place at the house of Paul Smith. Fall/Winter 16 marks a milestone for the label, where they will be consolidating their lines into two. Paul Smith will remain, but its brother, PS by Paul Smith, will also be birthed.
The question begs: so what’s different? While Paul Smith has always positioned itself on the line where high fashion meets formalwear, PS by Paul Smith will focus on ready-to-wear, shoes, bags and accessories for both genders. Seeking to appeal to the contemporary market, denim and outerwear count themselves as the new label’s focal points, while accessories take on a simpler look to echo the clothing collection. A new circular logo signed with the brand’s initials in monochrome will imprinted on all PS by Paul Smith designs, underlining the whole collection with the air of a fresh new label.
Fans might also be interested to know that PS by Paul Smith shops will be branded with a neon pink interior, with polished concrete in unusual shades and convex circular mirrors in a reflection of the new label. The FW16 pre-collection is available in dedicated PS by Paul Smith shops. It’s the dawn of a new era at Paul Smith.
