Bringing together a deep interest and respect for tradition with a startlingly innovative design vision, the Italian brand Dolce & Gabbana is collaborating with the Italian manufacturer of upmarket domestic appliances Smeg to create a special edition of Smeg’s Fab 28 refrigerator.
The unique Dolce & Gabbana styling was developed from images by Sicilian artists: lemons, the trinacria symbol (a head with three legs), cart wheels, medieval knights, and battle scenes. All these are distinctive elements of poetic marionette theatre and the Sicilian Cart, showing both brands’ dedication to skillfully combining eras, different specialties, and sensibilities.
There are 100 exclusive refrigerators. The first examples of this special collection will be presented during the Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2016, which will be held from April 12 to 17 in Milan.
