The proverbial bad boy arrives at his next stop in the highway to hell: Caten Penitentiary. Bright orange (the season’s new black?) was the opening salvo as inmates emerged from behind bars to swagger onto the runway, but it was the brand’s artfully distressed denims that were the true institutional apparel. Denim and wool combined in a double-breasted blazer. Jean jackets are detailed with straitjacket straps, and the jeans themselves are suitably baggy (because that’s how they’re worn “on the inside”). Rounding out the collection are those who patronise the prison – guards, psychiatrists, priests and lawyers – garbed in a plethora of protective outerwear, because one can’t be too careful in lockdown.
