Frank Gehry Designs Louis Vuitton Store Windows

Frank Gehry Louis VuittonWorld-renowned architect and Pritzker Prize winner (think Los Angeles Walt Disney Concert Hall), Frank Gehry, designs Louis Vuitton store window displays featuring fascinating sculptures alongside the brand’s Autumn/Winter 2014 collection.

Inspired by schooners, the scuptures are made from wooden structures covered in metal. Gehry expresses the dynamism of architecture and sculpture by grouping oblong, metal hulls that are curved, twisted and exaggerated to form shapes that roll effortlessly against each other. “They are like sails filled by a following wind. We’ve called them Wind Wings,” the architect explains. Crafted in tones of blue, grey, brown and rosewood, the display is a beautiful blend of colours splattered with reflective glints.

Passers-by and visitors will be able to view exclusive content when they scan the window displays with their mobile phones using the Louis Vuitton Pass app, which is available on iTunes and Google Play.
