Dolce & Gabbana at BRAZIL 2014

While it is still too premature to predict the winner of this year’s World Cup, we are placing our bets on the Italian National Football Team to win the Best Dressed Team accolade at BRAZIL 2014. Dolce & Gabbana have once again designed the formal uniforms that will be donned by their national team at this year’s most-watched football competition. The Azzurri, as the national team is more affectionately known in Italy, have been dressed by the creative duo since 2006.

To celebrate this longstanding partnership, Dolce & Gabbana is publishing a book of photographs portraying the national team players in their World Cup regalia: a navy blue traditional three-piece Martini suit in light wool, with a new Italian-flag motif tie, as well as casual gear such as trench coats, nylon jackets, jersey T-shirts, cotton pants, and wool sweaters, all in signature navy blue.

The photo-book is in support of a charity project by the FIGC: the “Fundacao Vida a Pititinga” (www.pititinga.org), a non-profit organization founded in 2004 in the North East of Brazil with the aim of raising funds to help to the community of Pititinga. With Pititinga located not too far away from Natal, where the Italian National Team will play against Uruguay on 24th June, it seems likely that the Azzurri might just pay a surprise visit to the small fishing village!
