In conjunction with the prestigious Maison & Objet (M&0) and Singapore Design Week, Robinsons threw its support behind their initiatives to celebrate all things design. The department store and a host of creative partners strove to bring art and design to the masses; their efforts saw their Orchard location transformed into a magnificent art gallery of sorts – housing a huge number of unique and affordable works.
In addition to the above mentioned partners, the five-storey building saw themes from SingaPlural, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Swarovski and Creativeans. Asia’s creative talents such as Indonesia’s Denny Priyatna, Philippines’ Lilianna Manahan and Singapore’s very own Melvin Ong have their own displays.
Special mention goes to M&O ASIA Designer of the Year winner, Kenneth Cobonpue. This stylish artist showcased a selection of his award-winning furniture at level five along with other works from Asia fastest-rising talents. Cobonpue’s creations have earned rave reviews globally and he has garnered a slew of awards including 12 Mugna and 4 Katha Awards for design excellence at the annual Philippine International Furniture Exhibition.
Robinsons hopes to nurture many upcoming design and creative talents in Singapore and will be committed to creating new levels of awareness here in the little red dot. Considering our size, we can hardly contain out excitement for the months up ahead.
