ABSINTHE

71/71/ Boat Quay, Tel: 6222 9068

www.absinthe.sg

Absinthe may have moved from a quiet enclave at Bukit Pasoh to the busier Boat Quay, but it hasn’t lost its old-fashioned French charm. Despite the name, there’s nothing crazy or over the top here; Absinthe remains an approachable French dining establishment that’s big on comfort food, hearty portions and familiar favourites, but this time, expanded across two adjoining shophouses and three floors.

SENOR TACO

3D River Valley Road, #01-12, Tel: 63371377

www.senortaco.sg

Don’t let the mainstream name and Tracy Emin-esque neon sign fool you, Senor Taco is probably the most authentic Mexican taqueria you can find in town. With a bigger venue in Clarke Quay, Senor Taco expanded its offering of tacos, Mexican drinks and a side of in-house Sound Lab mixing music to pump up the energy.

TIPPLING CLUB

38 Tanjong Pagar Road, Tel: 6475 2217

www.tipplingclub.com

The Tippling Club has always been synonymous with reinvention and experimentation, so after five successful years in its Dempsey residence, they’ve uprooted and planted themselves squarely at the dynamic CBD area of Tanjong Pagar. Apart from the new location, it’s made notable changes to its menu with the addition of a customisable lunch menu (for up to eight unique courses) and the new three-course pre-theatre menu with a complimentary glass of wine for a condensed Tippling experience before your night out. Look out for Tippling Club’s own label of wines and champagnes from producers such as Casa Freschi of South Australia and a wine made from a Tippling Club dedicated parcel within Markus Huber’s Berg vineyard in the near future.
