The seller is property tycoon, Michael Dezer. Better known as Donald Trump’s business partner, bought the cars from the James Bond museum in Keswick. A fervent fan, Dezer added to the collection diligently, further purchasing cars from the last Bond movie, Skyfall.
Dezer is known for development prowess, handling nearly the entire suburb of Chelsea in New York while partnering with Trump on residences with his namesake – Trump Towers, Trump Grande Ocean Resort and Residences respectively.
On display at the Miami Auto Museum , the collection includes more than 60 vehicles, from the Fairey Huntress boat used in 1963’s From Russia With Love to the Audi A5 from the latest movie, Skyfall. More than just these sleek, streamlined beauties, interested buyers will be glad to know that the Russian T55 tank from Goldeneye and BMW 750iL from Tomorrow Never Dies are also included.
But to be honest, what caught out eyes was the iconic Lotus Esprit S1 from The Spy Who Loved Me – a fully submersible version. An interesting story lies behind the Lotus submarine; it was found in a scrapyard in the Bahamas and used in the film solely as a car with retractable wheels.
Besides cars, the collection comes with thousands of James Bond memorabilia, including toys, posters and photos.
