China Bound Armani Casa Arrives In The Orient

Fashion mogul, Giorgio Armani brand will work in partnership with the Chinese cultural body, Mind Group for the design and development of the project. The company is known to have experience in a couple of philanthropic and socially responsible initiatives regarding urban development – a deciding factor for many Chinese today. Recent projects include the Mandarin Oriental and the world heritage site, Kuan Zhai Alley, both in Chengdu.

There will be two 222–meter-high buildings, each containing 65 apartments. Each block will feature a heated rooftop swimming pool, whilst the living spaces themselves will be furnished with pieces from the Armani Casa, Armani Rocca and Armani Dada ranges.

Chen Dong, President of Mind Group said: “L’Art Résidence by Armani / Casa is not only an artistic work in the original Armani style, but also an extraordinary project which will guide the Chinese retail estate industry with its creativity and innovation.”

“China is a fascinating country which continues to overflow with dynamic energy and future promise,” explained Giorgio Armani. “I’m delighted to be creating luxury residences in Chengdu, providing a remarkable living space infused with a modern elegance to this vibrant 21st century town which nevertheless has deep roots which run through the country’s past.”

Armani Casa’s interior design service was started in 2003, under the artistic direction of Giorgio Armani who directly selects materials, colours and finishes in furnishings. The designer also conceptualises bespoke furniture too. Recent projects include the Maçka Residences in Istanbul, and the World Towers in Mumbai.

For L’Art Résidence, units will be sold in the later half of this year, with the development period for 2016.
