CAMPAIGN CIRCUIT: BOSS Menwear Collection Spring 2014 – Hugo Boss

  • By Men's Folio

The BOSS man sets off on a major expedition, namely crossing the entire African continent – from the colourful coast of Kenya through the sands of the Savannah to the modern metropolitan centers of South Africa. For the looks, this means the richest possible array of wearable luxury.

The tailored business style is updated: the gray double-breaster pairs with a cardigan in Masai red. Daywear classics display surprising features – including a detachable hood on a waxed summer trench. The storied safari style travels through time to the 21st century, always on the road. Tone-in-tone was then, now BOSS is adding accents, such as the traveler hats with their narrow brims or roll-up chinos with their colorful two-tone look. The safari jacket goes casual with a drawstring around the hips. The pockets are reinforced with lamb leather, the epaulettes barely there. Enter the new saharienne silhouette – a key item for 2014.

High-twist twill with double monk strap shoes: new benchmarks are set in the business segment, where the materials are measured for the first time by their durability, quality and functionality. Even the double-breasted suit is crafted of highly robust, luxury fabric – designed to withstand a cross-country marathon in a 4WD. The fresh looks extend from business options through new classics all the way to sportswear. A bright red blouson delivers the water-repellent performance of a yachting jacket and goes great with a navy blue summer-knit sweater topped with a narrow shawl collar. All-rounders lead the way in the accessories as well. The leather weekender comes into its own, doubling as a slim tote for business or pleasure. And the palette promises the perfect adventure: the classic suit colours are lit up by blazers, shirts and polos in Kenya red, Savannah khaki and Atlantic blue.
