Hugo Boss new building is situated along the Omotesando area, known to be one of Tokyo’s most fashionable districts. The company took their time to decide on the most ideal of retail space, taking about four years before deciding on the location.

Designed by Japanese architect, Norihiko Dan, the store can either be seen as a futuristic space ship or a metallic teepee. The interior focuses on black finishing and furniture, paired with plush carpets and bordered by graphite-tinted mirrors.

The Omotesando store will stock the menswear collections while the entire third floor will be reserved as a private VIP room. A rare instance in Hugo Boss’s case, though an exception was made after realising Japanese customers preferred to take time and pore over made-to-measure suits. The brand says that providing this service will not only provide a superior experience but allow customers to understand in detail what the brand is about.

However, Hugo Boss is not resting on their laurels just yet. Besides plans to open a slew of freestanding stores around Japan in the coming years, Hugo Boss is seeking to have what they describe as their largest shop in sunny Osaka mid next year.
