  • By Men's Folio

The new Louis Vuitton area in Selfridges features a glass elevator that revolves within a double helix. That is not all: there is even a interactive digital atelier within. Just some of the opulent perks that the departmental store’s latest townhouse has. Said to be five years in the making, it is designed by French-born designer, Gwenaël Nicolas.

Louis Vuitton even has a separate entrance from the main store. The ground floor (facing Oxford Street) stocks the menswear range and huge wooden desks which have intereactive screens that holds the brand’s history and craftsmanship.

Show casing the works of British artist Barnaby Barford through a series of intricate sculptures Bounty, Cascade and Trace, painstakingly made from thousands of ceramic and porcelain flowers, leaves and butterflies. Japanese artist, Katsumi Hayakawa has created three-dimensional wall works made from paper and glue, each individually hand-crafted using 60,000 pieces of mirrors and paper cubes on which various lines and signs are printed.

First order of business: the Spring 2014 Icônes collection and the Men’s Spring 2014 pre-collection.
