Korean menswear label showed to a full house on Saturday night. In collaboration with Men’s Folio, the seats surrounding the runway were filled with copies of our latest October issue which featured 16 guys on the cover.
Recognised by many to be Korea’s best menswear designer to an international audience, attendees were treated to abstract prints over a minimalist form of clothes. Painted by creative designer and CEO of SONGZIO, Zio Song, he tells me his interesting inspiration, “I don’t like still-life pictures and tend to lean towards these sorts of design. While painting, I try to be an author and write a story. Thus, I thought about pine forests for this collection and named this print, “Red Pine”.” Finishing off all the looks was a pair of gladiator-like mandals that drew praise from the people in attendance.
In support for the show, the front row was peppered with distinguished guests such as TV personality, Jeannie Mai, Evenodd’s Samuel Wong, ATZU’s Noah Naima and the Men’s Folio team that included publisher, Olivier Burlot and managing editor, Daniel Goh.
The fashion presentation was made even more meaningful when Alex Minsky walked the runway. A former marine who lost his right leg in Afghanistan, he wore the pieces with panache as he strutted down the 50m strip.
