It seems like every high fashion label is pushing out Lunar New Year-related goodies. Even the august British brand Alfred Dunhill is not immune to a fine festive trinket or two. To chalk up a point or two in the lucrative Chinese market, Alfred Dunhill is offering a capsule collection of subtly designed objet d’arts that allude to the serpent without being too literal.
We particularly like the key fob in brass palladium on a burnished brown calf cord (above). Here, Alfred Dunhill’s artisans have cleverly coaxed the snake’s sinuous silhouette to resemble the figure eight. Of course, that number holds particular significance in Chinese culture for its associations with good fortune and wealth, and will make a great gift for the entrepreneurial businessman.
Snaking along, other serpentine souvenirs to wrap yourself around include the gorgeous cufflinks (below), offered in either warm plated pink gold or brass palladium. Embossed with the House crest and a masculine diamond-grid motif, these discreetly posh pieces are then hand-polished to a lustrous shine. With the creature regarded as a harbinger of wisdom and prosperity, here’s to a good Snake year ahead for one and all!
