Scoring a hat trick last night at the 40th American Music Awards was Justin Bieber, the Artist of the Year (as well as winner of Favorite Pop-Rock album and Favorite Pop-Rock Male Artist) in an insouciantly slouchy get-up that belied his pugnacious youth…although the 18-year-young teenybopper was quite the sweetheart in choosing to bring his mother as his red-carpet date.
Here he is showing off his swag in a clingy Dior Homme cardigan draped over a slick black leather tank and quilted drop-crotch trousers, both custom-designed by celeb stylists Kemal + Karla. Bling was provided courtesy of Michelle Obama’s go-to jeweler, Loree Rodkin…and those loafers! Justin’s shoes may look like Louboutin Rollerboy knock-offs, but his studded Unif Hellraisers are actually pretty affordable if you wish to cop his style.
Hewing to the same black-and-red colorway, Justin later changed into a custom Kemal + Karla black tank, scarlet trousers and Justin for Adidas sneakers for his dancey performance with Nicki Minaj, which you can watch here. In the words of his outlandish rapper guest-star: “World tour, it’s mine, ten little letters on a big sign”. And there you have it, the white boy standing at the apogee of our cultural zeitgeist. ‘Grats, Justin!
