Raf Simon’s swansong collection for Jil Sander continues to wow us with its highly covetable lineup of shoes. This model, in particular, caught our attention. Viewed from the front, it’s all business, but once you get to the rear, suddenly there’s a lucite heel – an ‘invisible’ phantom variant of what would have been rendered in solid wood or leather. It’s a subtle, ironic take on the classic pair of lace-ups. We’d have expected something like this from Maison Martin Margiela, but we love it all the same. Just think of how you’d glide along office aisles as if you were walking on air.
