#TheUnexpectedFind — Moschino Collaborates With Bugs Bunny For Chinese New Year

  • By Yan Joon Wing

Every week, we delve deep into the Dropbox or Google Drive folders sent by brands (or as they call it, a Press Folder) to find something unexpected, desirable and a little bit off-brand. Here we have Moschino x Bugs Bunny Chinese New Year Capsule Collection.

In celebration of the Year of the Rabbit, major fashion houses have interpreted their own rendition of the zodiac of the year. Dior pays homage to the adorable creature with a capsule collection that dives into the creative conversation between Eli Russell Linnetz and Kim Jones; Burberry hops on the monogram trend by playing with their “TB” motif; while the hallmark of bunny serves as the mood board for the FERRAGAMO festive capsule collection that showcases the immaculate tailoring of Maximilian Davis.

At Moschino, Jeremy Scott continues to pursue his passion for popular culture by teaming up with Bugs Bunny, a cartoon character in Warner Bros’ Looney Tunes and one of the iconic characters from the Golden Age of American Animation. Inspired by the liveliness of the grey hare, the seasonal capsule collection is brought to life with the auspicious hues and animated expression of Bugs Bunny lounging around while eating his favourite food. A unisex collection comprising 23 items, the festive collection is packed with house signature items and seasonal must-haves including the Biker Bag, Bugs Bunny bag, printed mini duffle bag, knitted cardigans, T-shirts, denim ensemble, leather jacket and hoodie in logo print.

Jeremy Scott is no stranger in the fashion world for his over-the-top taste. Under his helm, Moschino has incorporated a number of cartoon characters in his designs. In 2018, Moschino collaborated with H&M where the collection saw the creative director of the Italian fashion house taking a trip down memory lane and featured all-time favourite cartoons like Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy. Prior to that, Moschino also partnered with Nickelodeon for Spongebob Red Capsule which was shown at the Moschino resort show in Los Angeles, with proceeds went to the Global Fund for disease treatments.
