The New TAG Heuer Carrera’s Dial Is Crimson Red

  • By Asaph Low

The New TAG Heuer Carrera's Dial Is Crimson RedThe iconic TAG Heuer Carrera gets a fresh face with a striking red dial.

Red is never dull; emotionally charged and intense, it demands attention unlike any other on the colour spectrum. The colour is used to invoke excitement, stimulate thrill or arouse the senses; red does it best compared to its chromatic counterparts. Of the associations and connotations the colour is linked with, passion is a common thread that ties them all together.

TAG Heuer exemplifies that passion with red, a signature colour for TAG Heuer throughout the decades. It is unmistakable on the brand logo, contrasting and identifiable on numerous watch references ranging from the (TAG) Heuer Monaco, 1960s Carreras and Silverstone of 1974 and now serves as the guise of the new TAG Heuer Carrera Red Dial Limited Edition.

The New TAG Heuer Carrera's Dial Is Crimson RedEnergised by the intense shade of red, the exclusive model retains the pure and legible hallmarks of Jack Heuer’s original brainchild, the Carrera ref. 2447. The sunray brushed dial offsets against the subtly-snailed chronograph counters with rhodium-plated hands and indexes, providing contrast and legibility. TAG Heuer interprets modern elegance and performance differently for the TAG Heuer Carrera Red Dial Limited Edition.

The original silhouette, signature lugs and pushers of the Carrera ref. 2447 complements the contemporary 39mm diameter. TAG Heuer’s in-house high-precision Calibre Heuer 02 chronograph movement powers the 600-piece limited edition watch with 80 hours of power reserve and is personalised with touches of red on the column wheel and oscillating mass engravings.
