Entitled “Inside the Wave”, IWC’s exclusive evening was dedicated to the relaunch of the traditional Aquatimer family. As guests arrived at 72:13 along Mohammad Sultan Road, they were greeted by a venue that had been transformed an enchanting realm of the underwater world. Basked in atmospheric light, coupled with beautiful wall projections of hammerhead sharks and jellyfishes, the venue was the perfect setting to celebrate IWC’s new products. It also stylishly underscored the anniversary of the Charles Darwin Research Station, the scientific institution set up on the Galapagos Islands by the Charles Darwin Foundation, with which IWC Schaffhausen has maintained a partnership since 2009.

The evening began with a welcome speech by local personality and emcee Mr. Jimmy Taenaka, followed by a product presentation of the new Aquatimer collection by Mr. Edouard d’Arbaumont, Managing Director of IWC South East Asia. A unique sand art performance by local renowned sand artist Ms. Stacey Lee ensued, in which the artist traced the heritage of the Aquatimer. With her artistic usage of moving sand to recreate images of divers, sea creatures and an IWC Aquatimer watch, Ms. Lee captivated the audience with her flawless performance. With much fanfare, the new Aquatimer collection was officially unveiled with the lifting of a curtained centerpiece which shrouded the collection.

Throughout the event, guests were treated to a sumptuous spread of canapés that were specially created for the event. They were also given a unique opportunity to marvel at the new IWC Aquatimer timepieces including the special editions – the Aquatimer Chronograph Edition “Galapagos Islands”, the Aquatimer Chronograph Edition “Expedition Charles Darwin” and the Aquatimer Chronograph Edition “50 Years Science for Galapagos”. IWC dedicates these three singular timepieces to the Charles Darwin Foundation and will help finance its untiring work by channelling part of the proceeds from sales into the charitable organization and it’s Research Station.

Part of the proceeds from every sale goes directly to the Cousteau Society and helps fulfil the legacy of the committed environmentalist.
