Growing up, who were your fashion icons and favourite fashion brands?

My fashion icon has always been Madonna, and my favourite fashion brands are Comme des Garçons and Helmut Lang.

Who are some of the men you think are really stylish at the moment?

Nick Wooster. I want to dress like him when I am his age.

Name one of the biggest fashion faux pas you wish you hadn’t made.

My MCM crystal studded high-waist jeans that I wore in the early 1990s.

Key fall fashion trends you’ll be adopting this season.

Orange is the new black, as well as brown suits!

How far will you go to look fashionable?

As long as I keep within my budget, and I feel comfortable enough under this heat (in Singapore).

How would you describe your style?

As I grow older, I began to be more adventurous experimenting colours and prints, so I guess my style now is more dapper with a fun twist.

Where do you get your fashion inspirations/references from?

From the street, social media platforms like Instagram, as well as the people I meet.

How would you define a well-dressed/stylish man?

A well-dressed/stylish man sends a message to others that attention to details matters, and he cares about how people look at him.

What are you shopping habits? Tell us some of your favourite shopping sites and retail stores.

I tend to shop when I go overseas. I don’t have any specific shopping habits, but I do prefer to buy things that are unique. My favourite stores include Club 21, Jason, Topman, H&M and Zara. As for shopping sites, I prefer to make my purchases on Farfetch, Mr Porter and ASOS.

How important is fashion/grooming to a man?

Tremendously important. A man may not need to be good looking, but he has to be well-groomed to command respect.

What are the key accessories that a man should have?

Watches, pocket squares and ties.

In your opinion, how does dressing well empower a person?

It will boost your confidence and deliver a (I care and I love myself) message across to everyone you meet.

What are some of the style rules that you live by?

Wear clothes that fit, nothing too loose nor too tight.
